Very Scarce Prototype Spencer Pump-Action Shotgun, S.N. 5, of approximately a dozen early prototypes- only a handfull are known. This example is a 12 ga. with a 28" damascus barrel, profusely engraved by L.D. Nimschke using his large deep scrollwork, various geometric motifs, a hunting dog scene is on the left side and on the triggerguard. Smooth clean metal is a pleasing plum blue gray patina, fine checkered extra-figured walnut. An exciting find.
