116. Exceptional Gustave Young Engraved Colt Model 1862 Police Percussion Revolver, 5 1/2" barrel, .36 cal.. Beautifully engraved in a Germanic scroll and vine style with punch dot background. Typical wolf's head on each side of the hammer. Excellent overall condition retaining 98% original full silver finish. Much of the silver is turning a darkish patina- some silver loss to areas of the trigger guard. Exquisite original high quality ivory grips. Manufactured in 1863 in the early 22,XXX serial number range. It is extremely difficult to find a Civil War era 1862 Police in such exceptional condition. Antique.
