
119. Very Special-Order Winchester Model 1894 Extra-Lightweight Take-Down Short Rifle, scarce to find in caliber .38-55, 22" extra rapid taper full round barrel, extremely rare 3/4 length magazine. Original sights include a Lyman front, sporting rear and Lyman flip-up tang. Barrel and magazine lightly cleaned and retain 50% dulling blue- balance is a thin blue gray. One small area of corrosion just ahead of the rear sight dovetail. Receiver retains 40% blue- balance is a thinning blue-gray patina. Considerable case colors are present on the hammer, traces of c.c. on the lever. Very nice walnut forearm and shotgun style buttstock with virtually all original varnish intact. The forearm is the correct short slender style. Hard rubber buttplate. Crisp action. Very rare confiuration. All features present present on this rifle are verified by Cody Research Form. Manufactured in 1900. Modern-FFL required.
